# Ignore device - When should I activate this?

Across Squared we segment accounts into targeting groups ([more info here](https://help.squared.io/targeting-groups-in-more-detail?hsLang=en)).

If you have a mixture of device targeting across campaigns but would like Squared to treat them as one targeting group, you can select the 'Ignore Device' option. If you are testing device exclusions on selected campaigns for a short period of time this option may be relevant as it will ensure queries being added and automation work consistently across these campaigns, regardless of device targeting.

You would not select this option if you exclude devices as part of your always-on strategy. This will ensure you can have the same keywords across device targeting.

If you want to apply this setting, you can find it in the targeting section of Squared under the "Manage" menu.
