Find potential cost savings by surfacing paid keywords with a high organic ranking

Paid & organic search should work together harmoniously right...? If only that were true! Too often, PPC and SEO teams work separately, and so do their strategies, which can be due a lack of easily accessible integrated data.

This is where Squared.io's Organic Overlap tool can help. The report contains more data than ever before, and it allows you to compare keywords and search term performance between paid and organic, ensuring a much more cohesive strategy.

Firstly, check Search Console has been linked for your account here.

The customizable parameters of the report can include all live keywords from Google Ads - helpful for finding keywords which may be high spending but also appearing in the top positions organically.

You can also view search terms with organic positions as low as 20, surfacing keywords performing well in paid search but have low organic visibility. These can then be prioritized for SEO work, as you know they will perform better in a higher organic position.

Once you’ve set the parameters, just hit download to get a report with the matching keywords.

In this report you’ll find columns covering

  • Organic performance: “Sc…” columns
  • Google Ads performance: “Go…” columns
  • Highest ranking organic landing page
  • Google Ads competition levels according to the Keyword Planner Tool

Added Value:

This report in Squared.io differs from the Google Ads Paid and Organic report in quite a few ways, but the fundamental difference is that we provide the percentage absolute top data which is not available in the Google report. It's the combination of average organic position and percentage absolute top which gives you the insight as to whether dropping your Google Ads bid will save money or make you lose valuable visibility in the SERPs.
The report in Squared.io also shows you competition level and what organic landing page is, meaning a more full understanding can be gained of the combined activity.
