Paused queries in more detail

Check if you're still capturing traffic on search queries matching keywords you've paused intentionally

Pausing an exact match keyword does not always mean you won't appear against the query. The paused queries report in Squared.io shows you which keywords you've paused but you're still capturing as search queries (being picked up via other keywords/campaigns). This can help you quickly surface and cut out inefficient spend.

In the drop-down you can see the search queries matching a paused keyword ("Entity"), where they're being triggered and the performance for the paused query.

The query data reflects the date range chosen in the top right.

If a keyword is paused in one campaign and live in a different campaign (with the same targeting) we will not flag it as a paused query.

You might see keywords you've paused due to "redundant keywords" in OptiScore - it's worth reviewing the report to check if the paused query is still being triggered in the right place. Google recommends removing redundant keywords, rather than pausing them - which will remove them from this report.

You can ensure paused really does mean paused by activating the 'Negatives for paused exact match keywords' automation (more info here).
