# Performance Max insights

## Ensure best practice set up and get performance insights with Squared.io PMax support

### Channel splits

Head to the "Performance Max" tab to get see channel splits across the PMax activity you're running. You can monitor spend, clicks, conversions, and revenue by day and by channel.

You have the option to filter for specific campaigns and look at different date ranges.

Hit "download XLSX" to get the data in Excel.

### Best practice set up

 You can ensure Performance Max has best practice set up with our dedicated insights. We'll flag:

- **URL expansion on** (Optimization): Using URL expansion without applying any URL exclusions can result in targeting non-commercial pages
- **Missing brand safety exclusions** (Optimization): Check if Performance Max or Smart Shopping campaigns are missing potentially key brand safety exclusions for content and types & labels (e.g. live streaming videos)
- **Auto-created video** (Engagement): These are video assets automatically created by Google - you can view the videos being served and impressions delivered to help get dedicated assets to replace these

### Automating brand safety

As well as flag missing brand safety exclusions, you can automate their application across your account, group of accounts, or entire subscription by heading to "Optimize" --\> "Automation"

### Improving performance

With set up complete, Squared.io can help highlight ways to optimize and improve Performance Max improvement

- **Low performance assets**: These are text assets being flagged as "low" performing according to Google. You can test replacing these assets to improve performance - Google's recommendation is to use variations of the strong performance assets
- **Zero conversion products**: This report tells you how much spend is on non-converting PMax products and you can see which products have the highest spend without delivering a conversion. Using this data, you can decide if products should be removed from the activity or optimised in the feed to improve performance
