What does linking Google Search Console to Squared.io give me access to?

It's quick and easy to link Google Search Console with Squared.io - you'll just need read-only access to the relevant GSC accounts. Once you have access, head to the Search Console page and add your authorisation by hitting "sign in with Google".

Once you've added your access, you'll need to create the links between Search Console domain/s and your account/s (eg linking scdomain:https://panamair.com with the PanAm accounts).

We'll then be able to help surface optimisation opportunities across Paid Search and Organic.

Organic overlap

Paid & organic search should work together harmoniously right...? If only that were true! Too often, PPC and SEO teams work separately and so do their strategies, which can be due a lack of easily accessible integrated data.

This is where Squared.io's Organic Overlap tool can help. The report contains more data than ever before, and it allows you to compare keywords and search term performance between paid and organic, ensuring a much more cohesive strategy.

The customizable parameters of the report can include all live keywords from Google Ads - helpful for finding keywords which may be high spending but also appearing in the top positions organically.

You can also view search terms with organic positions as low as 20, surfacing keywords performing well in paid search but have low organic visibility. These can then be prioritized for SEO work, as you know they will perform better in a higher organic position.

Once you’ve set the parameters, just hit download to get a report with the matching keywords.

In this report you’ll find columns covering

  • Organic performance: “Sc…” columns
  • Google Ads performance: “Go…” columns
  • Highest ranking organic landing page
  • Google Ads competition levels according to the Keyword Planner Tool

Organic queries

You’ll be able to do a gap analysis between SEO and PPC by heading to “Optimize”, “Add queries” and using the query source drop-down to select “Organic”.

This view will surface the queries you’re ranking for organically but missing out on in paid search. This view includes the organic delivery for impressions and clicks as well as the average monthly search volume according to Google.

These queries can be added straight into your account as new keywords if you want to maximise your presence on the results page.

Competitor queries

This feature surfaces the queries your competitors are ranking for organically that you're missing out on in your organic and paid search to help find new keywords to drive incremental traffic.

To get started, navigate to "Competitors" under the "Optimize" overlap and hit "enable competitors". This will produce a list of the competitor domains who have the highest overlap with your keywords. "Overlap score" shows you how many of your keywords each domain is appearing for in the organic results. Adding those with a high overlap can be beneficial as they are likely to have most relevant queries to review.

Once you've chosen your competitors they will appear in the Add Queries tool under the "query source" drop-down. From here you can see the queries and their average monthly search volume from Google before adding them into your account.
