What's the difference between Google Optimisation Score and Squared.io?

There are some key points to consider on this:
  • Squared.io is deliberately aligned to industry best practice. This sometimes diverges from "Google best practice" and it's important to make this distinction for your clients
  • The view provided by Squared.io is independent and unbiased (relying on Google to tell you how good your accounts are, is effectively allowing them to mark their own work!
  • Because the Scores and penalties in Squared.io are spend-weighted, we highlight areas where you can stop the wastage of inefficient spend and find opportunities. Google's suggestions don't necessarily prioritise in the interest of saving you money (eg Search Partners and DSA campaigns are recommended as part of their Optimisation Score - these have their place, just not when it comes to spending efficiently!)
  • The Google Optimisation Score has been developed with the long tail of SMB's in mind, not a more sophisticated PPC practitioner (such as yourselves!)
  • And, Squared.io does lots of things which the Google Optimisation Score does not suggest (eg enforcement of campaign settings policy across multiple accounts, routing negatives, auto-expansion, client negative keywords and multi-account auditing, etc.)
As you can see there is a big difference between what we do and what the Google Optimisation Score shows - if you need any more detail, please reach out!
